Vanessa Ali

Vanessa Ali

Vanessa loves to create paintings that burst with colour, movement and light. Enthralled with the beauty of the natural world, she finds inspiration in the breathtaking scenes that abound in the prairies, forests, mountains and lakes of British Columbia and Alberta.

Vanessa is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She is a Navigator and member with Mastrius where she has been mentored by master artists Heather Pant, David Langevin, Stephanie Gauvin, Lee Munn, Yvonne Reddick, Brent Lynch and Jordan K. Walker.

Artist Statement

The primary forces in my work are colour and light; they make me swoon and yearn to portray their power and beauty. I explore and capture the negative spaces in a thicket of undergrowth or a forest of trees and study the play of sunlight, reflection and shadow in a landscape. I use oil, acrylic, watercolour, gouache and coloured pencil in my endeavour to capture movement, depth, life and light.

Current Show-Offs

Nothing scheduled at this time

There are no upcoming juried exhibitions or shows at this time — my paintings are having a quiet moment, safely tucked away in my studio.

In the meantime, you can view all available works in my online gallery, and discover a selection of pieces as fine art prints in my online print shop.

To hear when the paintings come out of hiding, I invite you to subscribe to my newsletter for updates on upcoming shows, freshly finished works, and new print shop arrivals.
